This might be a cultural difference, but we don't think that having a second function for a coffee cup holder is viable. At least not in Australia, people wouldn't use it. The USB coffee warmer was a good idea though, one problem with that though is that it would send production costs significantly up.
I think one of the important focuses is to keep the product simple, effective, safe, low cost and practical. Focus on the principle function.
People are either going to be using these carrying coffee from the counter to their table, or from the cafe to their workplace/home. Having something to facilitate carrying 6 cups of coffee and not spilling it on yourself will be more than enough.
Something that will easily be carried in your backpack or handbag when not in use, something that is easy to clean, quick to use, and stable.

The whole secondary function bit was just thrown up in the brain stroming we did and it was really just a way of getting us to think outside the box a bit more to generate ideas and concepts
